EARTHQUAKE REFLECTION
As the terror has subsided (I was never terrified, but I think my enjoyment of the earthquake was not the regional standard), today has become like a snowday. Everyone compares stories of where they were when the big one hit, folks have skipped out of work, and there’s sort of a “Oh my gosh, isn’t mother nature strange and powerful?” feeling in the air.
Here in the forest, we are getting reports from Seattle of severe structural damage to the art loft we used to live in (where many of our friends still live). I guess the front door of the building will not close, thanks to some severe structural cracks in the foundation. The building always was sort of a dump, but nothing like a little 6.8 tremor to crack it to the core.
In other earthquake news, Nasty Meat-Market Club in Pioneer Square Destroyed! Sorry, I never did like The Fenix Underground.
Hey there. I'm Ariel Meadow Stallings, a native Seattleite who's written my way up and down the Left Coast. Electrolicious is where I post daily randomata, but I also write for a living. My first book, Offbeat Bride, was published last year.
