I remember how, during one of the many 45mph dust storms at Burning Man this last year, I was biking across the Playa with the wind at my back. I was going remarkably fast considering how little I was pedaling, and I realized that I could stop pedalling completely and be blown forward by the wind. If I slowed down at all, I simply raised my arms as a sail, and was propelled through the white-out as dust stung against the back of my legs. I tossed my head back and laughed out loud the for 10 minutes it took me to cross the mile-wide playa.
Hey there. I'm Ariel Meadow Stallings, a native Seattleite who's written my way up and down the Left Coast. Electrolicious is where I post daily randomata, but I also write for a living. My first book, Offbeat Bride, was published last year.
