Mood shift: 180 degrees
I am a changed woman. Feeling many times better today. The combination of my Lotus Magazine “break-up” (for isn’t that what it is?) combined with a miserable cold I caught from Andreas pretty much kicked me to the curb, slapped my face against the concrete, and made me stand back up again. Fuck that. I’m better. I have use of [testing] 1.5 nostrils, and the combination of snow outside, an email from my agent saying “I’d like to promote you as our #1 option for OFF SITE CONTRACT WORK at a higher rate!,” and a great chat with Betsy last night has lifted my spirits ten-fold.

Oh, that and ….here!, on Temptation Island. I refuse to make any excuses for my enjoyment of the trashy show. I think part of the entertainment is laughing at how poorly the “contestants” (is that what they are?) deal with the situation they’ve chosen to be in, it makes smuggly pat my copy of The Ethical Slut, knowing that if Dre and I were …here!, on Temptation Island, we would be giggling, giving lots of winking thumbs up, and asking eachother to bring dates back to the cabana for some EXTRA action. Now THAT would be good for some ratings….here!, on Temptation Island.

It was an amusing episode. I kept bitching “Someone get the make-up girl on Kaya! His face is twinkling it’s so shiny!” (I do have my catty moments, but at least I was feeling better) Then there was the heartbreak of watching poor Megasoul, who’d been on dates with all three remaining guys, get rejected by all three when choosing for “the final dream date.” (groan, if the final dream dates involve any of the following, I will barf: lots of scattered rose petals, dozens of flickering candles, bathtubs or other night/water combinations.) The best was when Billy and Kaya went for a night-time beach walk, only to be followed by vulcher-like camera men with their lights and fisheye lens. Billy get pissy and bitches “This [conversation] has nothing to do with the show–this is my LIFE!”

Camera man, without pause: “Right now your life is the show.”
