Sorry for the relative silence. I stayed at Molly’s over night on Wednesday, then went to Kirkland pick up dear Courtney Reimer (who is moving to meet her destiny in NYC next week) and bring her down to Olympia for a final forest hurrah. We finished up the cider from New Years, found it rather weak but still had a fantastic time running around the forest, layed under a tree on the soft forest floor, and talked on and on and on about god knows what. Despite the fact that the house was a mess (I normally clean up before guests come over) Courtney and I had a fantastic time eating her amazing cookies, smoking, napping, etc. I even brought her to The Voyeur, which is the epicenter of Oly Indie Rock. Although she didn’t teach me the secret Indie Rocker handshake, but I did pick up some lingo: “Who is this band playing?” she asked. “I like their sound.”

Note to self: when addressing fans of independant rock music, talk about enjoying a band’s “sound.” Not style. Not music. Sound.

Today I’m back in Seattle after dropping Courtney off. I’m working at the Amazon warehouse, trying to catch up on a full 36 hours of NO INTERNET! How amazing! Lotusmag email was down, so my motivation to get my fix was diminished. 36 hours, people–that’s truly remarkable for me. Lotusmag mail is back up, thank goodness, so my addiction can resume.
