Virtual friends
Yesterday I handed my revised CPC personal statement to Andreas for him to have a final peek at it. I told him about how Terrapin had been so helpful with editing, and Andreas asked who Terrapin is.

“Er, he’s an online friend!” I offered, realizing I really couldn’t even remember what Terrapin’s real name was (It’s Rick, I remember now). Then I stopped and thought about the nicey-nice people I’ve met through this here blog and who I talk to (well, type to) on a daily basis. I may work at home, but I have an “virtual office” packed with coworkers!

My newest online friend is Nicola, an Irish writer living in Austrailia. We chatted for ages tonight, and I adore her already. Aww! This is one of my favorite entries from her online journal:

I popped into the CD store next door and bought Moby’s ‘Play’. Me: “I’d like the new Moby CD, please?” CD Store dude: “Which one ?” Me: “The one where he goes like *this*” (jumping in the air) on the cover. CD Store dude *laughing* “Here you go.”

Plus, she taught me that “nip” is Irish for “naked.” Now you know!
