What a great day I had yesterday! I woke up early to have breakfast with Ernie, who has got to be the only person I know who makes plans for 8:30 Sunday morning and KEEPS THEM. Amazing. Delightful. I will tell you all that Ernie is funnier in person, and cuter when sipping a white chocolate latte (Ernie, lesson one about blending in when visiting Seattle: you need to order a half-caf non-fat tall double latte, with whipped attitude on top or else you won’t get no respect from the baristas.)
Then I sauntered back up to my lovely new home and basked in the sun on the roof of my building. Did I mention that rooftop access is included, and that there’s an awesome patio up there with a 360 degree view of the Cascades, Olympics, downtown, Bainbridge Island, and Lake Washington? Oh, and you’re right in the shadow of the radio towers, which could be creepy…in fact I noticed how whenever my arm got near the armrest of the plastic lawn chair I was in, that all my arm hairs stood out straight–a side effect of the radio towers? Only the shadow knows.
My old pal TC came over in the afternoon, and convinced me to drive up to Bellingham with him, where we attended a full moon gathering on a cliff overlooking the San Juan islands and much of the Straight of Juan de Fuca. Holy shite! I’ll have photos later this week, but suffice to say, it was lurvley. And everyone was so nice! We had to leave just when the party was getting started, but it was looking like it was going to be a good one.
I arrived home to meet Andreas, who had driven up from Olympia to spend the night. Pretty perfect day.
Hey there. I'm Ariel Meadow Stallings, a native Seattleite who's written my way up and down the Left Coast. Electrolicious is where I post daily randomata, but I also write for a living. My first book, Offbeat Bride, was published last year.
