Heeyah
I have arrived. New York City feels like Seattle today: drippy and mild, although with a different accent. Last night was spent at my friend Kate’s house on the Lower East Side. She and I met at Emerson College 8 years ago, and last night we laughed, remembering when she told me she was bisexual fall of ‘93, and how I thought that was just the coolest thing. Ah, to be 18 and clueless.
Current snapshot: I’m hunkered over a computer on the corner of Prince and Lafayette, a few blocks from where I just completed my Nerve interview. The interview went well, I suppose. Grant was quick witted and amicable, but Lorelei seemed a little incredulous that I would move to New York for a barely paid internship. I was reminded of how strange my motivation seems to some people. Hmm. We’ll see, won’t we? I can’t even pretend to know where I’ll be in six months.
[Oh and yes, I know my comments are a li'l screwed.]
Hey there. I'm Ariel Meadow Stallings, a native Seattleite who's written my way up and down the Left Coast. Electrolicious is where I post daily randomata, but I also write for a living. My first book, Offbeat Bride, was published last year.
