Does anyone else with a name that starts with “A” have the problem of friends’ cell phones accidently calling you? It’s happened to me now with three or four different friends. Every now and then my phone will ring, I’ll look at the caller ID and think “Oh wow–haven’t talked to them in a while!” But when I answer, all I hear is the sound of fabric swishing by, and I shout “HELLO? HELLO? THIS IS YOUR PHONE TALKING!” in hopes that the caller might hear the little voice and realize it’s not in his/her head. Sometimes I miss the call (usually when I’m sleeping), and then I get strange voicemails left at late hours…the sounds of a bar, people talking, the tell-tale “clunk clunk” of what must be housekeys whapping against the phone.
