Daily affirmations of a word mercenary
I busted ass this weekend, cranking out the first draft of the Globalgasm article, the birdfeeder buying guide for Amazon, and finishing all my consumer electronics reviews. I thought I was going to have a busy week, so I hauled tail to get all my writing out of the way.
Now, of course, it turns out that I’m not busy at all this week. After my interview at the paper this morning (they won’t need someone until Friday), I diddled on the internet, read a book, took a nap, wrapped the finished book up and mailed it to a family members who will enjoy it, made a quicky website for a friend, and ate a bunch of food. Oh, and I helped a friend with a resume. He definitely needed some help, as he had listed, under Operating Systems, that he was comfortable with Windows 95, 98, 2000, Me, and XL. Hee hee. XL.
Roughly, I could have done all those things (with the exception of the nap) in about an hour. But I spent all day doing those tiny bits of nothing. Tonight I revise the Globalgasm article, twiddle my thumbs some more, and wait for something interesting to happen.
Hey there. I'm Ariel Meadow Stallings, a native Seattleite who's written my way up and down the Left Coast. Electrolicious is where I post daily randomata, but I also write for a living. My first book, Offbeat Bride, was published last year.
