So, Nikki went to a blogmeet and expressed some dismay. She didn’t even have to get around to telling me what it was….I knew exactly what she was thinking: the vast majority of bloggers are a quiet folk, many of whom gravitate towards blogging because feel that they’re only able to be outspoken online.

This doesn’t always make for exciting meets. All too frequently that extrovert who’s blog cracks you up seven days a week turns out to be a shut-in who is only able to mutter sarcastic jokes under their breath while twitching nervously at the thought of eye contact. While I am very happy that the internet is a place where the shy can feel free to speak their minds, as an extrovert who gravites toward my own kind, it can be a bit of a shock when I meet a group of people I assumed to be loud-mouths who turn out to be quiet-mouths. All too often, this is me at a blogmeet: Verbal bull-dozer ready. Aim. Fire! …Oh, I’m sorry: were you saying something?

I’ve written about this before, elsewhere: The most notable exceptions to this trend are fags and their hags. Every gay blogger I’ve ever met has been just as outspoken in person as they are online, and usually even funnier (Ernie and Philo come to mind). And their female cohorts are typically outrageous, as well (ala Min Jung).

Therefore, in the name of honest advertising, I would like to state that not only am I just as much of a gabbing spastic freak in person as I am online — I am even more so. With me, what you see here is actually a toned down version of what you get.
