The $6,000 I spent on CPC tuition last year seems to still be (albeit slowly) paying itself off. Yesterday I received two free books from Erica Zappy, one of my former classmates who is working for Candlewick Press. Both books were written for young adults, which means they’re right at my level. Heh.

I’ve already sunk my teeth into Feed, by M. T. Anderson. It’s a satirical sci-fi novel that pokes into where marketing and advertising might be headed. It is so very up my alley, what with my obsessions with media and culture.

Next up is Stoner and Spaz, by Ronald Koertge. Looks like your typical ugly duckling love story, but the fact that the main characters are a boy with cerebral palsy and a girl who smokes too much weed has me intrigued.
