Daily affirmations of a word mercenary
Here it is! The second coming of Electrolicious. Besides the change in location, you might not notice too much different right now, but trust me: the back end is drastically different. I switched from using BloggerPro to Movable Type, and here are some of the exciting changes you might notice:
1. Categorized entries
See how, to the right of the comments link at the bottom of this post, it says “Logistica”? That’s one of almost 10 different categories of post that I write (including Journalish, Linkage, Narrative Non-Fiction, Product Placement, and others). Starting today, you’ll be able to read my archives by category — just click the category link at the end of the post. (And no, I’m not going to categorize the last 18 months of posts, and yes, my old Blogger archives are still available. They’re listed by month in the sidebar.)2. Better commenting options
Finally, you can use HTML tags in comments, and I’ve also added a preview option so you can double-check for typos or glaringly offensive content.3. Links to recent post titles
Now you’ll be able to browse my recent posts by title. Just look over there for “Posted Recently” in the sidebar.4. Lots of other stuff
Movable Type makes things much easier for me in lots of boring geeky ways you probably don’t care about. Regardless, you’ll probably see some new features and options around here as I get increasingly used to MT and its many awesome features like TrackBack.I’m sure there’ll be some glitches here and there, so be sure to let me know if you get any weird errors or broken links. Oh, and sorry to make you do this, but now’s as good a time as any to change your bookmarks and links to Electrolicious’ new home here at arielmeadow.com/electrolicious. I’ll leave the current arielmeadow.com as it is for several months, but eventually it’ll simply point to my resume, so be sure to update your links — I don’t want anyone confused!
Isn’t it exciting? Special thanks to Brenna Koch (that’s cook, not cock), who held my hand every step of the way! …And to Jess, who tested out TrackBack for me.
Hey there. I'm Ariel Meadow Stallings, a native Seattleite who's written my way up and down the Left Coast. Electrolicious is where I post daily randomata, but I also write for a living. My first book, Offbeat Bride, was published last year.
You're reading a page from the archives. Check the homepage for current content.

hey air.
when viewed on a mac, i’m getting broken image links inbetween comments and logistica. and as i’m writing in this window, i noticed something irritating. do you have the comments set at a specific window size? because i have to use the horizontal arrows to see the whole window of the text box where i’m writing. tre annoying. you can erase this comment. just wanted to let you know.

Strangely, if the image between comments and logistica is broken, the image between logistica and trackback should ALSO be broken. Is it? The image rests here. I see it live.
And as for resizable comment window for my MacTard friends: DONE!
Oh, and one issue I’m aware of: despite the fact that I have the “convert line breaks in comments” feature selected, line breaks don’t seem to be converting automatically. For now, if you want to insert line breaks in your comments, you’ll need to type in <br><br> manually.

You might check the body element on this pop-up window — it doesn’t seem to have the white color set, so if one’s default background isn’t white, the white parts of the little graphics do stand out more than you probably want them to. Still readable, of course. (this could also be handled in the style block in the head, or in a linked style sheet.)

MT rocks. I cant wait for the new version (any day now).
Have you considered adding the notification feature, so your loyal minions can get emails when you post something?

Yay! As a special added bonus, the new template also fixed the annoying “feature” that, in Opera, made the second and subsequent posts not appear until after the bottom of the right nav bar. Yay!

Ooh. Dave. I had not. Excellent idea. If anyone feels like getting an e-mail when something PARTICULARLY exciting happens, just sign up over there under “Electrolicious.” I won’t notify for every post (I post just about everyday, and that would get irritating), but maybe a couple notifications a month, and perhaps a few entreatments to ENLARGE PENIS SIZE NOW!!!! and CONSOLIDATE YOUR MORGAGE!!! Heh. Just kidding.

Hi there, I’m viewing on a Mac too and Im seeing broken image links next to Logicista and Trackback. (Megan on a mac doesn’t see them anymore…?) Is my browser too old or what?

Try again….I think I *may* have found what was causing the problem. The images are definitely there and the link is correct, but there were some left over bold tags around the image tags, which were maybe confusing to a Mac (and at the least, sloppy coding on my behalf).
Let me know if it looks better.

Er, did I notice…? The three comments above yours are all about Daypop, including mine. So yes, I noticed.
(Feeling a little snippy today.)
