Vegetable that has saved me the most money this week: Sweet potato
Amount spent: $2.89
Amount saved: $32.00 (rough estimate on what I would have spent on four lunches out, including tax, tip, etc.)
Less than $3.00 for four days of lunch food is pretty good. I don’t think even ramen can compare.

Wait. You normally spend 32 dollars total INCLUDING TIP on FOUR LUNCHES? Where the hell do you dine, Taco Bell?

That’s not too far out… if you figure a hippie burrito or some such thing is $6 and a drink is $1, that leaves a buck for a tip. ’sabout what I spent at my vegetarian lunch cart every day until the onset of unemployment symptoms. (=

I love sweet potatoes! And they’re very good for you, too. I like mine with a little butter and cinnamin. Now that I’ve figured out how to do them in the microwave and make them come out just as good as the oven, I probably eat 4 or 5 a week.
