This morning my favorite online radio station (Flaresound.com’s Jazzy Beats) played a song I hadn’t heard or thought of in years: Electric Skychurch’s “Deus.”
It inspired me to pull out the album, Together. What a classic! This CD has definitely stood up to the test of time, taking its place in my audio history as a great representation of the ethno-acid-breakbeat-trance sound that was born out at full moon desert parties of the early- to mid-90s. Extra stalker points if anyone can tell me which article of mine featured an interview with Roxanne Morganstern, Electric Skychurch’s vocalist. Regardless of solipsistic trivia, the album is definitely worthy of a listen.
…If for no other reason than that it makes positively perfect hooping music.

Here’s another desert classic:
Harkiss Brothers “Delusions of Grandeur”
Also, I found a Tommy Boy promo of 808 State’s “Pacific” with 6 different mixes on it at a record sale this weekend. I paid a lot for it, but this is a RARE find.

I’d love to see that interview. So happy to know that Together lives on…I’m actually back with Skychurch again. Come see us in January if you can!
