Daily affirmations of a word mercenary
This afternoon I rode my bike up the coast to the Santa Monica pier, where “I Love Your Work” was filming. I went to go kick it with some BDB alums, meeting for the first time Helen Jane, the official ILYW on-set blogger, and reconvening with Josh, the producer.
Josh walked me around the set and see this? [I am now holding up my right hand.] This touched Franka Potente! Since I was introduced as a journalist, I worked hard to keep my gushing to the oh-so-minimal, “Really great to meet you.” It would have been quite inappropriately meta-meta to blurt, “I love your work!” on the set of a movie by the same name.
All star-struckedness aside, it was great to meet Helen Jane as well as Yoav, the executive producer. They all seemed pooped after a long day of filming on the beach, but my brain was working klickety-klack all evening, mulling over ideas and angles and pitches. Just you wait.
