Daily affirmations of a word mercenary
I’m preparing to move my site over to its new home, electrolicious.com, right? I keep talking about this. What’s stopping me?
I kind of want to do a redesign. But then I remember: I suck at designing! Really bad! Then I get an idea that I’ve had before:
Does anyone feel like redesigning my webpage? What’s in it for you, you ask? Well, I’ll prominently link you over there in the “About Blog” section. I get lots of hits! Many people would see your amazing skills — and then they would visit your site and hire you to do things for them! No, really!
Does this sound like I’m begging? Because I am.
And to make it even worse? I’m going to be demanding, too.
Things I would want on this imaginary site that some creative benefactor is going to give to me:
Now that I’ve scared everyone away, does anyone feel like submitting a design?
Hey there. I'm Ariel Meadow Stallings, a native Seattleite who's written my way up and down the Left Coast. Electrolicious is where I post daily randomata, but I also write for a living. My first book, Offbeat Bride, was published last year.

Moving to a new host (I highly suggest Dream Host? Just started a new site/blog with a good friend Jonathan (and a few others to appear later); hope you’ll stop by! I am still in the throws of tweaking the templates, working on a new design with a few folks (if you know anyone to recco to design a template/logo let me know, willing to pay for services rendered), but the most important part was “just doing it”…so I know you’ll find the spirit/time to do it yourself, soon, right? All the best ~ Craig

An unrelated question: What do the asterisks next to some links mean (i.e. Hitachi Magic Wand and Douse It)? Thanks.

The astericks are links. Click then to see what they link to.

An unrelated factoid: A trebuchet is a type of medieval catapault (in addition to being a most elegant font).

I think it’s time for Ariel to go big. I started reading her site back in the days where it was black background and her infamous “glam shot” on the side (I’ll bashfully admit that’s what starting me reading).
Now I think she needs something that says, “I am a hooper, hear me ROAR!”
Maybe I should shut up and try to think of some design ideas…

Hey I am a professional web designer who runs a MT powered blog and is also a reader of your site. I would love to help you out with a redesign. No charge.
The trebuchet was also know as the wolf of war and feared by castles.

Thanks to all who expressed interest. I’m going to have Kev from alternate.org do it. Thanks again, everyone! Who knew I had so many rockstars in the hizouse?
