Last night: Drinks with Leila & Josh at Vine.
Today: seeing Gray whales from a Malibu beach with Gillian, Dre’s little sister. And listening to Justified over and over and over.

I am 100% serious. I split the cost of the CD with an equally embarrassed friend a few weeks ago. Even Andreas admits that the album is impeccably produced. And as for Rolling Stone? Oh yes. I’ve seen it. Read the article, even! True, JT may be taking over RS, but he shared the cover with Phish.

Hm. Do you even remember what a brow is, at this point?

Actually, S, no. I don’t. My pop music fetish is nothing new. Check this post from November of 2000, and it goes back so much farther than that.

Wow. See, I have the same tendencies, only I make myself justify the poppy acts I give amnesty to. For instance, S-Club 7 is okay because they have cute Brit accents, Backstreet is okay because they have a member who goes on benders, etc.
Otherwise, I pull out the all-purpose cultural frowny face.

Oh, and speaking of Justified, check this review. It includes this gem of musical writing:
As it is, this is Justin Timerlake squealing like Michael Jackson’s pet monkey, a recipe for joy if ever there was one.
