I have a fire up my ass today! I’ve submitted four article pitches to Nerve, Salon, and xlr8r. Some of them old ideas (who remembers “Old Ravers Never Die” and “Of Pets & Toys”?) others new (living without a landline for two years). I’m just throwing spaghetti at the wall, waiting to see if anything sticks.
Hey there. I'm Ariel Meadow Stallings, a native Seattleite who's written my way up and down the Left Coast. Electrolicious is where I post daily randomata, but I also write for a living. My first book, Offbeat Bride, was published last year.

So, I was browsing the internet, and perhaps you’re already aware of the feature at http://www.linkpopularitycheck.com/ , I came across this site and decided to type in your link. Ta-Da–21562 links. Quite impressive–not to make you feel like you’re even more on display. Congrats.

Haven’t commented before, but I read your site often and wanted to let you know how much I enjoy it. As a magazine neophyte, how exactly do you “pitch” to them? Just curious.

Connie, I really have no idea! I taught myself how to do it last year, and I’m still not sure if I’m doing it right. I check out the submission and contact information for each magazine, and then send an email introducing myself, my skills, and then a description of the article I want to write…making it sound exciting and relevant to their readers.

Electrolicious, please do tell me where you got your beautiful bright picnic forks, spoons, knives, etc. I’ve looked all over to no avail!
