My usual morning routine involves getting out of bed and, still naked and full of morning urine, going straight to the stove to put on the tea kettle. Then I deal with a robe and going the bathroom and stuff. But while cleansing, the morning tea has been replaced by a morning glop shake, a practice I call simply, “Wake and shake.”

It makes for a very loud morning at our house. First there’s the juicer grinding away, then there’s the blender mixing the fresh juice with the glop shake powder (psyllium fiber + bentonite clay). Then there’s the loud gulping noises of Dre and I trying to drink the shake before it coagulates. And yes: it coagulates if you don’t drink it fast enough.

Perhaps because of this lack of morning black tea, or perhaps because my office thermostat is set too low, I’m generally cold these days. Could be a side-effect of eating less carbohydrates and fats? I look forward to my post-lunchbreakworkout shower as a mid-day warmer. I will definitely be excited to reintegrate milky sweet black tea into my morning routine. No cravings, though…although someone talked about sashimi at work today, and it sounded awfully good.

JEFB:
Apple.

Lunch:
My third and final sprout salad, a kiwi, and a raw bar. The celery juice I brought to work to drink scared all my coworkers and eventually scared me, too. It separated out and looked like pond water. It’s still sitting in the fridge at work, and I think I will dump it tomorrow. Note to self: celery only good with other juices.

Dinner:
We started with a little lemon apple juice with lemon. The mystery was solved: apple juice with lemon is still brown, although a bit on the blonde side. Perhaps a little lighter than usual. Maybe not. Andreas made more yummy curry. Jessica Toth, and old dear friend from high school who I haven’t seen in 5 years, was a total trooper and ate with us. She was very kind and said she enjoyed the cleanse food. Maybe she wasn’t lying?
