So I tried to import my Blogger archives into Movable Type, and not only did it not work, but now I have almost 2000 EMPTY posts to delete one by one.
Grumble.
Regardless, if you’re wondering what the hell is going on here, THAT’S what the hell is going on here. sigh.
Hey there. I'm Ariel Meadow Stallings, a native Seattleite who's written my way up and down the Left Coast. Electrolicious is where I post daily randomata, but I also write for a living. My first book, Offbeat Bride, was published last year.

And look at this lovely error message that I see all over my mt.cgi pages: MT::App::CMS=HASH(0×8358420) Use of uninitialized value in substitution (s///) at /home/arielmea/public_html/cgi-bin/mt/lib/MT/Util.pm line 319.

With that warning, make sure you don’t have any more entries with an empty body area. And, you can batch delete entries in “power editing” mode. =]

I see no batch deletion in power editing mode.

A similar thing happened to me. I tried to import my blogger entries and it gave me millions of empty ones. I was never able to figure out what was wrong.
I hope you can get it to work.

Ariel, it’s more like “check all the little boxes then hit delete” editing. See what I mean?

Right, bmk, which means that if there are 1500+ empty entries, I have to click that little “delete” box 1500+ times. Which took me a couple hours last night.
Luckily, I was able to do a successful import. My problem the first two times was saving the blogger file as an html instead of a txt.

Oh, you know… I thought you meant that you were deleting each one at a time, as in individually from inside each entry! haha oops, and who the heck would do that anyway? so what I’m saying is better than that but yes it’s still lots o’clickin’. Good thing that switching the import file took care of it!

Or no, you still clicked all those? I can’t read straight!
If it’s a fresh install, where you just loaded the database, you can drop the tables and reload the db.
But you already took care of it all anyway!
I love your new home!!!
