Wendy, I admit to misusing the term "carbs." I use the word loosely to apply primarily to grains, starches, stuff like that, not fruit sugars. You're right: I get plenty of natural sugar through-out the day from juices, and I think it IS what helps me keep my energy up. Whenever I dip into a low blood sugar-induced demensia, a little carrot juice will perk me right up.
I would perhaps print out the cleanse guide offered on the Arise & Shine site, and take it with you to talk to your dietician, because I'm sure s/he could tell you much more than I could. I don't really know why the cleanse recommends juices, although I do know that veggie juices are emphasized over fruit juices. As for why juice and not just the fruits and veggies themselves? I think it might have something to do with lessoning the amount of digestive work your body has to do, but I really have no idea. I'm not much of a dietary expert...I just follow the instructions! :) Well, that and misuse words like "carbs."

ive been following your "cleanse" and seriously considering doing it myself, as i hear its very good for the body.

i however am confused about your mentioning on several occasions your lack of "carbs" on this....i watch my carb intake very carefully, because i like to stay lean and defined and have to say that your diet doesnt appear to be low in carbs.....in fact, one of those juices alone that you mention has over 60 grams, most of it sugars. doing a diet to keep me lean and healthy, i refrain from ALL juice because the carbs tend to be "empty" and all sugar. my dietician says eating a whole fruit (20-25 carbs) is way healthier. are they having you do this so that you can sustain energy throughout the day? just wondeirng cause i am always up for trying new things!
