Daily affirmations of a word mercenary
Y’all may have noticed that since making the switch over to electrolicious.com, comment posting speeds have been slow. You click the button, and it takes a while for the page to refresh and show your comment.
I noticed the issue when I started noticing commenters posting the same comment 2-6 times. First I wondered if it was an MT error — until I noticed that the comment posting times were a couple seconds apart, pointing to user error. I changed the “submit” box in the comments section to read “click ONCE to post” in an effort to cut down on duplicate posts, but some particularly impatient commenters still clicked several times.
I’m not quite sure why comment posting is sluggish (could just be a server issue — I’ll check with “dr2.net”:http://nuke.dr2.net), but I’m posting this to remind commenters to hit the submit button just once and just be patient. It will take up to 5 seconds (imagine that!) for your comment to post.
Update: After talking to “dr2.net”:http://nuke.dr2.net (who never cease to amaze me — I’ve never experienced such instant technical support response), the server I’m on has been a big sluggish, but is getting a new processor within the next few days. We’ll see if that solves the problem. If not, I’ll move to their faster server.
Hey there. I'm Ariel Meadow Stallings, a native Seattleite who's written my way up and down the Left Coast. Electrolicious is where I post daily randomata, but I also write for a living. My first book, Offbeat Bride, is in bookstores now.

Amy, I had no idea…does that mean that in two years he’s going to get into some amazing college and abandon me? Oh god! Say it’s not so!!

I certainly hope not. He’s so helpful. It just boggles my mind when I think of what I was doing when I was 16.
