okay i'm over here playing catch-up at electrolicious...

not that i guess i should admit this, but it's easily found via archive.org anyway, lol...

i conducted this experiment myself back in 1998 - i brought on some tears during a check-up and was promptly handed a prescription for prozac (which i took for one month out of curiousity, and which made me ten times more crazy than i ever felt before).

i only had vicodin for our trans-pacific flight. the only people i know who take Xanax are usually those tripping on 6 hits of acid and they want to chill out. i don't think i'd take it though. Tylenol Sleep or whatever it's called works pretty well, as does vicodin.

Geesh...a year ago I was going through Spring doldrums and thought it might be a thyroid issue. I went to Kaiser and explained to the doctor (who never once even made eye contact with me) that I wanted to get my thyroid checked out and told him my "symptoms". He immediately prescribed me Paxil without my even asking for an anti-depressant. So I have this year-old, unopened bottle of Paxil in my bathroom cabinet! It shocks me too how easily these drugs are doled out.

I thought of that, Echo, and it was the first thing I asked when I called an alternate dentist down here. I was told that dentists won't use each others' x-rays. They're very proprietary about them, and it's almost impossible to get an old dentist to send x-rays over...and new dentist's don't trust others' x-rays, and insist on doing their own anyway.

I think it's just a way to leech more money, but regardless: getting the x-rays transfered didn't seem to be an option.

Ariel: Sometimes it's possible to have medical records transferred between physicians, perhaps your dentist could have done this with your x-rays? Just something to inquire about next time you're in this situation.
