Daily affirmations of a word mercenary
I just paid a large amount of money for a hair cut and color that looks the exact same. How can so much time equal hair that is still brown, still in that weird growing out phase, and still ugly? The [vapid, self-obsessed, nothing-better-to-think-about] brain boggles.
In other news, I have a story about Lollapalooza that I need to get written down. (Done.)
Hey there. I'm Ariel Meadow Stallings, a native Seattleite who's written my way up and down the Left Coast. Electrolicious is where I post daily randomata, but I also write for a living. My first book, Offbeat Bride, is in bookstores now.

i have the same experience every time i decide to get my hair “professionally” cut and colored (instead of doing it myself). it never looks that much better. so usually i just do it myself, and yes, granted, sometimes, like today, my hair is some weird “inbetween color” and kind of fucked up, but i don’t really care i guess. i might have to color it again before i see you this weekend though.

same.. i’ve had so many experiences with my hair getting ruined.. like the $200 bleach experience where i emerged like grandma. oh, god, never again. well, maybe there’s some kind of hidden hair that you’ve got that’s ugly, but the hair in the webcam looks cute to me albeit a lil’ bedhead
but i always like bedhead. the band is good too.

it’s kind of comforting to know that your hair is still in that weird growing out stage too. we seem to be on the exact same hair timeline this past 1.5 yrs or so. will find out friday!
