Daily affirmations of a word mercenary
When in France next week, I think that one of the first things I am going to do is go out and buy some sort of fragrance. An essential oil or a one of those infamous overpriced French perfumes, preferably with an earthy jasmine aroma. Then I will wear it all week long. After returning home, I will cease wearing it, and upon smelling it, I will think thoughts of France.

Ha! I intentionally create memory tokens for myself all the time. Sometimes with fragrance, sometimes with music.

Oh, that is an excellent idea! I also have learned you can use a non-scented dryer sheet, spray a small touch on the sheet and toss it in the dryer with your bedding and your towels and stuff.

There is a place on the Champ D’Elysee. It is called Sephora. Its an amazing place. They have this kiosk in the center of the store filled with what must be hudnreds of scent oil and an expert who stand in the middle, like an organist, able to create for you the single perfect scent. It really something. My wife was in sniffing heaven. You should make a point to go there. Its about half way along the north side. (right bank side by paris standards…70-72 avenue des Champs-Elysées )

if you REALLY want to get fancy they have places where you can have them create a unique, totally customized scent for you from plant based oils that you pick out yourself. like, you go pick the plants, they make you the essential oil. i have no idea how much that costs but i’ve always wanted to do it.

Thanks for the suggestion, Brodie…but there’s a Sephora here in LA, too.
