Nothing like the Tuesday-bluesday post-vacation/tail-end of jetlag blahs to make you grumbly and discontented.
I spent my spare moments today scheming ways to freelance from France. Feasibility: very low. Fantasy potential: very high.
At least this year, Andreas can suffer with me: he came home from work today muttering about grad school in Europe.
Hey there. I'm Ariel Meadow Stallings, a native Seattleite who's written my way up and down the Left Coast. Electrolicious is where I post daily randomata, but I also write for a living. My first book, Offbeat Bride, was published last year.

Philippe, for me that is true. For Andreas, who’s spent several years LIVING on the other side, it’s more than just envy.

Ah, granted !
An interesting point is how you refered to “Europe”. Andreas used to live in Germany , right ? And after a taste of France the both of you fantasize about “the other side”. From my perspective those are 2 very different countries. Just like you make a clear distinction between LA and Seattle, a distinction I wouldn’t see so clearly (both are in the US, period).
In “my side” we usually love the idea of Europe but still cherish our national identities. I guess we need outsiders to remind us we not so different of our neighbourgs than we love to think.
Anyway, it’s grey and chilly today in Paris, enjoy the sun !
