If they suck, it's not a good experience. I had my lip threaded once, and it was really wrong feeling afterwards. Like a little hairless lizard on my face. I didn't like it. I think I found the key though... After my first experience I ended up touching my eyebrows to inspect and that was the wrong thing to do. I was however very pleased with how fast it was and the quality. The next time I went, I applied some witch hazel before and after the "procedure" which really seemed to help with the redness/irritation factor. I will say - having your lip threaded is like torture though! I think your hair does come back faster with threading but I haven’t had any problems with the redness for days afterwards.
