This morning, I received this message from a friend of a friend of a friendster:

Early arrival suggested.

Tell the doorman that you are there for ____’s party

Feel free to post this invite on your Friendster Bulletin Board so all of your friends will make it too!

Hope to see you there.

____ North Beverly Drive
Beverly Hills, CA 90210

I asked the invitation-sender to clarify if I knew him, and if the email was spam. He claimed it was not spam, and that he was “just being nice.” When I pressed further, inquring if the party was free (which it would be if he was “just being nice”) he admitted that no, “club policy” meant that it was not free.

My first Friendster spam! Can others be far behind? And why can’t you block users who you don’t want contacting you?
