Daily affirmations of a word mercenary
The kid on the mountain is saying “I hate my life.”
That’s pretty much how Radiohead makes me feel, too.

i like radiohead. i was a little offended by the article’s suggestion that i’m unable to have an independent opinion of them; in fact, my discovery of them and my listening history has had almost nothing to do with main stream media representation, since i don’t pay attention to any of that. i discovered them and fell in love with them on my own.
but it does make me sad. the kids drawrings are great.
i dunno if those kids have *that* good of taste though if they wanted to listen to 50 Cent instead.

That’s great! Just coming up with teh idea to do such a thing is great. Think about it- whether or not those kids liked it or not (or pretended to like it or not), they’ll most likely remember the experience. So here you ahve a roomful of fifth graders being influenced by a modern musical entity. In public school! Wouldn’t have happened in *my* fifth grade days, sad to say. In the latter years of high school, *maybe*. Perhaps this suggests a slight shuffle to the left? Perhaps the American education system standard isn’t as farked as I think it is? Intriguing…’Course, I’m prolly overanalzing again…it’s the Libra in me…

Hahah, I just found that article via metafilter too and saw your trackback. I thought it was damn funny
and in fact I passed it on to a few fellow Radiohead fans. I wonder what the experiment would yield with other music…
