I’m in Seattle. Too scattered and busy to write anything coherent, but here’s a few things off the top of my head:

  • Smells SO GOOD! Clean air! Leaves becoming soil!
  • Sound of rain at night akin to crawling back into womb and being fed by an umbilical cord. ie: very comforting.
  • Housing is so cheap! Staying at a 4 br house in Fremont that costs $1200/mo. Looking at quaint apartments on Capitol Hill in the $800 range.
  • Nice to be in a human-sized city. Last night while negotiating dinner options, Owen declined to go to the Hill with Dre and I because it was “too far away.” Capitol Hill is 10 minutes from the U-district. 10 minutes in LA is next door.
  • Working back in the basement of The Paper feels like I never left, except for now I have this ridiculously keen appreciation of project managemers.

On the whole, it’s like putting on an old sweatshirt, and finding that it still smells like a lover.
