Like Liz, I’m totally all a-twitter over the impending return of Mimi Smartypants. Mimi is off in China right now with her husband, LT, finalizing the adoption of their daughter, Nora. Very exciting stuff.
I’m also irrationally excited over the product of Matt and The Queen’s “Project Squirelly” and Heather and Jon’s impending baby over at the blurbodoocery. If blogs like Fussy are any indication, witty parent + wacky tot = endless writing material and hours of bloggertainment.
Babies, however, do present some interesting blog ethics issues. I worry that one or more of my favorite bloggers (especially respected privacy hounds like Mimi “You’ll never see my face, hear my name, or know where I work” Smartypants) will stop writing, and my little blogger heart breaks. It’s also strange to be excited for strangers’ babies. Then again, I suppose my uterus makes this excitement completely out of my control. Baby crack trumps sanity, yet again.
In other baby news, Baby Hank’s first birthday is coming right up!

the best blog/journal of baby-dom yet, for me has to be the hysterically funny “the story about the baby”

Ah yes. It’s been a while since I’ve caught up with that site. Thanks for the reminder. Hilarious stuff. I about choked on my stifled giggles at work.
I was taking Cordelia out of her car seat and she hit me. So I said, “No.â€And then she hit me again. And I said, “No!â€And she swung at me again, missed, and smacked herself in the nose.
I suppose it is wrong for a parent to ever delight in the tears of their child. However, on occasion, I think it is all right to silently enjoy it when providence provides a little bit of unexpected justice.

Not immediately, but probably within a couple years.
