Well, I’ve canvassed the neighborhood with signs, and even talked to a few folks out and about, but no luck so far. If no one claims the rabbit, I will definitely keep her, and would be quite happy to have such a sweet creature in the house. I mean…LOOKIT HOW CUTE! (That’s a picture of Andreas holding her while she licked his hands.)
Update
The rabbit (named “Furball”) has been returned to its owners, a very happy 10 year old boy and his parents. It was a happy reunion, although I was secretly sad to see her go.
Hey there. I'm Ariel Meadow Stallings, a native Seattleite who's written my way up and down the Left Coast. Electrolicious is where I post daily randomata, but I also write for a living. My first book, Offbeat Bride, was published last year.

If you don’t want her, I’ll take her!!! She can kick it with Bella, the badass guinea pig. She’s adorable…

i was secretly hoping that the owners would never surface — you clearly need more pets! if for no other reason more hilarious stories of flying, screaming ratties.
i feel like our good deed was probably for the best otherwise. nothing worse than a sad 10 year old boy..well except maybe a displaced seattleite.

The story Heidi’s referring to is this one:
Saturday night, I decided that I would make the introductions between the rats and the rabbit. Rats can be quite predatory, and I’ve heard stories of them ganging up on caged rabbits and causing quite a bit of damage, so I was cautious when I made the introductions. I didn’t want the rats to freak out and attack the rabbit.
I got Tejasa out first, holding her firmly and letting she and the bunny sniff each other’s noses. Tejasa responded by SHRIEKING in terror, squirming out of my hands, and hiding in the closet for five hours. Jaamini responded by bugging her eyes, and then when I stood up to put her down, she leapt, ala flying squirrel from my shoulder into the closet….where she hid for five hours. My rats are weenies.

aw that’s so cute! a lot of people don’t realize that rabbits can be trained just like cats to use litter boxes and make really great housepets. i had them when i was younger too, but they always lived outside in big pens. i’m glad the little boy got his pet back!

that is the cutest f*cking thing… you know, i once found a hamster in Madison Square Park (which i wound up having for two years and named Madison because i’m just really not so creative)… my god that’s a cute rabbit. i’d keep it!
