Daily affirmations of a word mercenary
I totally forgot that Monday was the three year anniversary of this blog. Go back and see how it all began.
Three years of blogging may seem like a lot, but for someone who’s kept a near-daily journal since 1987, it’s hard for me to be impressed by three more years. Sure, it’s strange to look back and see what I was writing about in 2000, but when I was digging through a box of books last week, I riffled through my paper journal circa 1994, when I was proudly writing in all caps “I AM NOW A HUSKY!” (accepted as a transfer student at the University of Washington) and whining about having one of my first yeast infections.
Yes, someday I’ll build the Ariel Museum and people can come learn more than they ever wanted to know about this second generation hippy, hooping. post-raver, writer, happy cynic, and culture contrarian. My documentarian/memory packrat tendancies must be driven by the notion that it’ll matter someday, if I just keep close enough track of it all.
Hey there. I'm Ariel Meadow Stallings, a native Seattleite who's written my way up and down the Left Coast. Electrolicious is where I post daily randomata, but I also write for a living. My first book, Offbeat Bride, was published last year.

happy anniversary nonetheless. enjoy and celebrate it anyway. journaling for yourself is one thing. blogging online is another. many blogs never last this long and you know it.

How did I miss this? Happy anniversary… if only that it also means (vaguely) that it’s OUR anniversary soon, too.
