Last week I had a dream about the first Seattle group hoop. In the dream, the gathering was in the meadow at my mom’s house. There were easily 50 people there, and the whole thing was a screaming success. I figured out how to do some insane physics-defying trick without even trying, and it was all very happy.

Reality was not far from that dream! Granted, we were inside a large old hall, and there were 20 of us instead of 50, but it was still a total raging success! Tons of wonderful people who I’ve spoken to online via hooping.org, tons of new folks to meet, and TONS OF BOYS! The boy-girl ratio at group hoops is usually pretty skewed. The Bay Area Hoopers certainly do better than Los Angeles (where boys were very VERY rarely seen at gatherings), but Seattle’s men have the potential to rival SF’s in terms of hoop capabilities. The crowd was almost one third men, and what a bunch of hotties they were. Andreas worked on a move we called “The Nutcracker,” Holly’s boyfriend Ben did a neck spin, and it was just all sorts of hot boy-on-hoop action.

And we’re going to do it all again next week! Hurrah! Excellent.
