Daily affirmations of a word mercenary
Last night Andreas and I celebrated our return by visiting with friends and playing a game I’d never played before, Fictionary. It’s like the classic Dictionary Game (or Balderdash, for those of you who felt the need to have a board to keep score on), except for that instead of picking a word out of the dictionary and writing faux definitions, you read a paragraph out of a book, and then everyone writes their own version of the next sentence.
It’s a fun game, and a surprisingly good writing exercise. That said, I came in last place.
Hey there. I'm Ariel Meadow Stallings, a native Seattleite who's written my way up and down the Left Coast. Electrolicious is where I post daily randomata, but I also write for a living. My first book, Offbeat Bride, was published last year.

Exquisite corpse, esp. the version where you trade off between drawing and written sentences (i.e. one person writes a sentenc, the next draws a picture based on that & folds it, the next writes a sentence based on the picture, etc.), is good too.
