Things I am loving about freelancing again:
• Having a weekly outfit, instead of a daily one.
This week’s outfit includes tan pants, a baby blue dress, a very Mr. Rogers-y blue hooded sweater, and a green Warmies hat that I fucked up so badly that it’s unsellable.
• The daylight hours.
Oh! That’s right! There’s daytime! How novel.
• The hustle.
I like selling myself and my ideas. Sometimes it can feel like face time = waste time. When I’m freelancing, I’m hyper-efficient.
Things I am not loving about freelancing again:
• Um, healthcare?
Ever since I met Heidi and heard her story, healthcare has become a very tangible neccessity. One I don’t have taken care of right now.
• Um, saving money?
Dre and I have been starting to pay off debts/save money in preparation for buying some property early next year. Freelancing will keep us above water, but that’s about all.
• Um, small house?
Andreas and I are both working at home right now. And we share a 1br apartment. It’s going ok, but it’s definitely a tight squeeze.
Hey there. I'm Ariel Meadow Stallings, a native Seattleite who's written my way up and down the Left Coast. Electrolicious is where I post daily randomata, but I also write for a living. My first book, Offbeat Bride, was published last year.
