Last night TC and I drove down to Tacoma for a Signal Path show, and were not disappointed. We thought we were going because the Seattle show tonight doesn’t start until 2am, and as good as Signal Path is…2am is really late.

I was thinking about why 2am is really late. A few years ago, things were just getting started for me at 2am. My first reflex is to say “I’m getting old.” But then, no, that’s not true. I’m really quite young. How about, “I’m getting older”? But why blame it on age? I decided the real explanation is this: “I’m not staying up all night these days.” Who knows, that may change some day and I could be rocking the all night shows. No need to pigeonhole myself.

But more than anything else, last night’s show merely acted as a teaser. Now I HAVE to go tonight. I’ll take a nap or something.

The show was great. Small, but great. As a former beat-freak (read as: retired speaker-humping raver) I deeply appreciate a band with two drummers. Want a taste of how good they are live? Mmm, click here. Give it 60 seconds — the song starts mean, but quickly becomes something so nice you want to tuck it into bed with you.
