Almost all of the blogs I visit are heavy on the personal journal side, light on the linking. I know I've followed links you've posted in the past and enjoyed reading whatever it was you linked to, but the reason I keep coming here is for your commentary and personal writing, not the links.

I'm a much bigger fan of reading someone's personal journey in life than finding out what funky links they may run across online... along the same token though, I'm not a big research junkie, so any fun links others provide on their websites is always good entertainment!

In general, I think linking blogs are totally played out.

While a "blog" is traditionally as Ariel pointed out, a web log of where someone has been on the web, I have found that most "blog's" I come across are really personal websites. One example of a "blog" would be http://www.february-7.com , and while I enjoy the links on it, it is extremely boring in itself. I prefer your style much more Ariel...it doesn't seem that it's not a "blog", just that it's an evolved version. Either way, does it really matter as long as you enjoy it, and so do we?

The traditional definition of "web log" is log of where you've been on the web.
