Things are puttering along quite nicely with the wedding planning. We’ve got the location. We’ve got the vegan caterer (our friend Erin from LA). We’ve got the photographer (our friend Amrita Huja). We’ve got the ring refabricator (my parents’ friend David Weinstock). We’ve got the DJs (our friends Megasoul and Scott, and hopefully Brian and John too). We’ve got the cake-maker (our friend Susannah). We’ve got the make-up artist (our friend Tania). Are you noticing a trend here? We’re going by the theory that if we’re going to be spending money on this wedding, we might as well keep it in the family.

Last night I went to go pick up the centerpiece of my wedding outfit, the corsette (made by our friend Rachel of Red Ant). Want to a peek? Here you go. It’s blue with the most beautiful waves of gold stitching…fabric thanks to our friend Chaya from Daintycore.

Something I learned last night: driving in a corsette is damn near impossible. Even with my seat leaned back and sitting up as straight as I possible could, I was constricted to the point of getting flushed and slightly lightheaded. Note to self: do not get all Victorian on me. It is not ladylike to faint while driving.

I arrived home safely (miracle!), showed off the corsette to Andreas, and then we addressed our STD cards. HA! I love that term! STD stands for Save The Date, of course, but it cracks me up to abbreviate it. The lovely STD postcards were designed by our most wonderful friend Megasoul of Megasoul Designs.

What’s next? I need to make our wedding website. With all these friends coming from far away (the list thus far: NYC, DC, LA, SF), it’s going to be pretty crucial to have an informative website. This is what I have right now. Do I have any friends who want to build me a php template I could work with? Even better yet, any friends who want to make MORE than a php template?
