Daily affirmations of a word mercenary
Vincent posted his Candy Garden pix. HA!
Hey there. I'm Ariel Meadow Stallings, a native Seattleite who's written my way up and down the Left Coast. Electrolicious is where I post daily randomata, but I also write for a living. My first book, Offbeat Bride, is in bookstores now.

That house is a technology-gasm. Did the owner just go to the Rich People’s Shiny Stuf Store and say, “Give me your finest”? (I say that as I type away on my teeny tiny shiny new baby viao laptop). I think the huge drinking water thing next to you in that one picture is the most telling. I totally want to have a rave party. Wait, I see what you were talking about before…if I had an ironic rave parrty, what would separate it from an actual PARTY? My mind boggles at all the implications. It’s like when I lived with a bunch of Phish kids and we had a dirty hippie /lot trash party.

The party was hosted at the condominium of Simon Winder, one of Seattle’s pre-eminant Microsoft ravers back in the ’90s. As you can see, he’s weathered the economic slump quite well. Sadly, many of his MS-Raver kin have left town. Steve, Cameron, Sean — I dump this waterbottle on the sidewalk in your honor.
Oh.

Maybe we should simply allow irony to bite it’s own tail completely, and have a “Too Old To Dance For More Than 15 Minutes” party.
The truth hurts, indeed.
Oh, and Ivy: if you _really_ want a techno-gasm, you should check out Simon’s Tesla coil. And that’s _not_ a euphemism, although it should be.
