27May2004 Filed under: Pop VulturaListening to the Soundtrack genre on my iPod may produce the weirdest combination of music ever….”The Want Of A Nail” from Camp, “Spacefunk” from Freaks & Geeks, “Liquid Spear Waltz” from Donnie Darko, “Nailed” from Hedwig, “Casino (Solid State Remix)” from Run Lola Run, “How Deep Is Your Love” from Saturday Night Fever, “Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns” from Singles, “Six Feet Under Theme (Rae Remix)” from 6FU. My head is spinning! Music always calls up images in the mind’s eye,* but when every song is from a soundtrack, it makes my mind’s eye bug out a little.
* The term “mind’s eye” seems to suggest that my brain is a cyclops.
