Daily affirmations of a word mercenary
Out-of-balance relationships provide a particularly needling kind of heartbreak. Doesn’t matter what arena the relationship plays in — romantic, friendship, family, celebrity idolizing — it’s all the same twinge of suffering. That sense that you care so much … and it’s just not mutual. What an ache! The scales of affection tipped so obviously in one direction. It’s all in the unreturned glance, the message left unanswered. Having been on both sides of the fence doesn’t make it any easier, either.

Ohhhh . . . this one has been simmering in my subconscious for weeks now . . . thanks for bringing it to the surface . . . and why do we take all the unrequited, unreturned emails so personally? usually its just some reason that has very little to do with us . . . but it all *feels* so dang personal, doesn’t it???
