Daily affirmations of a word mercenary
So, we’re back from Montana. What can I tell you? Let’s see…the pre-wedding reception Friday afternoon was quite nice. It was very hot, and a golden eagle swooped over the patio where we were all eating (most everyone munching on the catered ribs ‘n’ chicken, and Andreas and I eating other things) and people saw it as fortuitous. We got our first lovely wedding gifts. We got lots of congratulations, and perhaps the funniest line was when some old family friend I’d never met before said, “Well, I guess we’ll be seeing more of YOU around these parts, huh?” Evidently, they’d not noticed the past six years when I’ve been around for numerous Christmases and graduation parties.
Saturday we headed out to Wildhorse Island, which was as heavenly as always. We read and ate and talked and swam and hiked to the top of the Island wrote our vows. Other things happened at the top of the Island as well — things that it would be improprietary to speak about. We drank good beer (Boddingtons!) and gossiped and skipped rocks and played cribbage. It was fantastic, and I always wish we could stay longer. We didn’t get in any kayaking this year!
Tomorrow I’ll have pictures.
