]]> By: dori http://electrolicious.com/2004/08/overpriced_seat#comment-4651 dori Wed, 18 Aug 2004 02:43:58 +0000 #comment-4651 frankly, i WISH gas was as expensive in the states as it was in the UK. maybe it would force people to think about alternative methods of transportation because people are far too lazy here. the american-style way of dealing with carpool lanes is to buy blow-up dolls and put 'em in the passenger seats. ugh, yeah, i heard about portland's crappy job market - but it seems to be geared mostly toward people who want to buy homes, own cars and all that. and maybe it's just because i'm jaded from having been here and done it twice around already, but i still think new york's the most overpriced city in the country. twenty dollars leaves your pocket when you leave your front door and frankly, after a certain point you kind of get over the 'everyone's here doing everything' thing - leaving you, basically, with dirty air and a couple of big city parks as an excuse for nature.
