Daily affirmations of a word mercenary
FYI, it looks like I’m having some server-side trouble with my comment script. I’ll let you know when it clears up.
Update: Oh, comment spammers. How difficult you make the internet. Apparently, my comment script was getting hammered so hard by spammers that my host shut the script down to keep my server from crashing. Lovely! Thanks to mt-blacklist all the comment spam was blocked but the server electrolicious.com lives on was paying the price.
Commenting is back to normal now.

How is Typekey working for you?
Does that work in the same manner as blacklist in blocking the spam from reaching your comments, but it still hits the server?

You are now the third person this week I have heard have this problem. Can I ask how you were able to fix it? Because the person who was hosting me had this problem and her server cut her off, told her she had to fix it or they would delete her account. She took her account elsewhere, but in the fuiture it might be handy to know what to do in this situation, since all of a sudden it seems to be popping up all over the place. Thanks.

Wow, Chasmyn. That sucks that comment spammers are hitting blogs so hard that I’m not the only person to be dealing with this problem!
I renamed mt-comments.cgi, which doesn’t seem to be helping. Since I did that (Friday), I’ve still bounced 500 comments.
The next plan of attack is to switch my blog over to mySQL and then close comments for all posts older than 10 days.
