Christian party animals
Evangelizing to the young and wasted in party centers around the globe, members of the 24-7 Prayer team hope to bring Jesus to the raving, godless masses.
I’ve met Jesus ravers before, but never an organized group of them like this. Interesting stuff.
Hey there. I'm Ariel Meadow Stallings, a native Seattleite who's written my way up and down the Left Coast. Electrolicious is where I post daily randomata, but I also write for a living. My first book, Offbeat Bride, was published last year.

Wow.
All night dancing with or without drug use can have many religious/spiritual aspects to it. But any prayers or other ceremonies found on the dance floor are usually much more progressive. It’s funny to see dance culture intertwined with such a conservative form of spirituality. But really it’s not funny at all. It’s exactly the same. It’s all about faith.

I couldn’t help but laugh that you are required to view an ad about Absolute vodka to read the article! Hee Hee!

Oh Sarah, that’s right: I forgot that non-subscribers have to look at an ad. I’m so spoiled by my subscription.

I saw this special the other night on a CBS news program that featured christian rock bands and how they are becoming more mainstream. What bothers me about it is that the young generation’s christianity is not evolving with the times. They and their fans are just as anti-gay and anti-progress as their older counterparts.

Thanks for the link to the great article, I enjoy my prem. subscription as well… As far as attitudes are concerned, be it progressive or highly conservative, those are values that are taught from early childhood. I doubt that any faith, be it Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Islam, or Paganism is going to greatly alter the attitudes that parents have instilled from such a young age. Personally, I am a very progressive thinking Christian, and I think that what these kids are doing is awesome. At 34, I have been involved in rave culture since I lived in Dallas in 1989, and it is great that they are sharing alternative highs to kids whom might never realize a divergent viewpoint exists. Not all Christians are 3-piece-suit-wearing square heads that have never experienced life as we know it.
