Hey there. I'm Ariel Meadow Stallings, a native Seattleite who's written my way up and down the Left Coast. Electrolicious is where I post daily randomata, but I also write for a living. My first book, Offbeat Bride, was published last year.

The show was great! We were general admission, and the floor was packed shoulder to shoulder with all assortments of filthy/gorgeous. Gay indie rockers, burners, drag queens, boring straight people, fag hags everywhere, and everyone was dancing their asses off.
The Sisters don’t have a very long show — with only one album, they just don’t have much material to draw from. They did a Franz Ferdinand cover (someone had to tell me what it was — most indie rock gives me diarrhea) and Jake Shears talked a lot about how nice it was to be back in his hometown. He dedicated Mary to the woman it was written about (Mary Borland I think was her name?), who was a Seattleite in attendance.
My favorite band member was Del Marquis. I love his corset-vested suits. So hot! Ana Matronic came in a close second — but I coudn’t help but feel like her role in the band is sort of as “hag prop.” She talked a fair amount and and danced a lot, but her mike was turned way down and she only has one song that she sings the lead on (There ain’t no tits on the radio!), and she almost felt like an MC as much as a supporting vocalist.
They sounded pretty damn good — much better than their Saturday Night Live performance.
