Om Malik on Broadband » Six Apart to buy Live Journal
This would be a major shake-up in the blog/journal world. The line between “online journal” and “blog” has gotten thinner and thinner, and this would make the distinction a case of strict semantics. I’m curious to see what happens with this.
For what it’s worth, I have a live journal account, and I admit that I really like certain aspects of the system. The easily controllable reader filtering, the networking aspect of it, the posting-comments-from-email component.
Definitely curious about this development.
Update: Confirmation of the story.
Hey there. I'm Ariel Meadow Stallings, a native Seattleite who's written my way up and down the Left Coast. Electrolicious is where I post daily randomata, but I also write for a living. My first book, Offbeat Bride, was published last year.

I know that Brad hasn’t particularly liked his job for a while. Still though, I’m pretty surprised.

I just heard this… I have a very, very bad feeling about it. I think it probably means the end of LiveJournal, or at least of anything good about LJ.
