In Germany not many pay attention to english lyrics unless she/he finished at least 10th grade or has an affinity for the language. A few years ago schools started teaching English right from the beginning, but even the 11 year old boy with 5 years of practice doesn't translate what's coming out of the radio every time. I thought "Every breath you take" by the Police was a romantic song until I realized MUCH later that it's about stalking... Germans heard: Party, guns, don't take e. That's it :D!
