Daily affirmations of a word mercenary
Next weekend Andreas and I are going to New York. Dre has never been, and since I’m making the big bucks at work right now and jetblue is so cheap, I decided to get him a weekend trip as a Christmas gift. And so, off we go on a red eye flight next Friday night.
We’ll be staying with my friend Terra, and spending lots of time with her and Megan. We’ll be seeing a show, eating good food, debauching, and wandering the streets. Scott will be coming up from DC, and perhaps bringing our beloveed Ashley with him. I’ve got a face-to-face meeting with the folks at my lit agency on Valentine’s Day. If I got everything I ever wanted, I’d find a way to hump Choire’s leg while we’re there. Wouldn’t that be fun?
I’ve got a curious relationship with Manhattan, but it’s been over three years since I last visited. We’ll see how I’m getting along with the city these days.
Hey there. I'm Ariel Meadow Stallings, a native Seattleite who's written my way up and down the Left Coast. Electrolicious is where I post daily randomata, but I also write for a living. My first book, Offbeat Bride, is in bookstores now.

Hopefully you will get the same weather we have this weekend! I just got back from eating, drinking & shopping all day in the city, and it was sunny & 50+ degrees out! Talk about perfect for just wandering around; it really can’t get any better than this in February…..

too bad we’re be weekend off on the travel schedule - you’ll definately need to give me the report on the spots you hit you liked best since we’ll be there right after you!
and i know what you mean about having a strange relatinonship with the city - i’ve experienced some major turn offs each time i’ve been there, but i still don’t know it well enough and i’m looking forward to getting to know it better every time i go. as of now i can’t EVER imagine living there though.
have a blast!!!
